LinkGuard Privacy Policy
Last updated September 13, 2026
This policy explains how SHWRK handles information when a merchant installs or uses LinkGuard in a Shopify store.
Information we process
To authenticate a Shopify store and provide LinkGuard, we process the shop domain and Shopify OAuth session information supplied by Shopify. Session information can include the installing staff member’s name and email address, along with the access token required to act on the store’s behalf.
LinkGuard accesses only the Shopify information needed for its features:
- Products, pages, blog posts, and online-store navigation needed to scan storefront links.
- Store redirect settings only when a merchant chooses to create a redirect from the App.
LinkGuard does not request Shopify customer data or store customer records.
Information we store
- The shop domain and Shopify OAuth session information needed to keep the App connected.
- Scan totals, issue details such as source URL and title, target path, and merchant-selected resolution history.
Why we use information
- Authenticate the merchant and keep the App connected to the store.
- Run the workflow requested by the merchant and show its results.
- Maintain App history for the merchant and provide support.
- Protect the App, investigate errors, and meet legal obligations.
Storage, sharing, and security
App data is hosted through Cloudflare infrastructure, and Shopify provides the platform APIs used by the App. We share information only with service providers needed to operate the App, when required by law, or at the merchant’s direction. We do not sell App data or use it for advertising unrelated to the App.
We use HTTPS, Shopify’s authenticated API flows, and verified webhook delivery to protect App data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we apply reasonable safeguards for the information we process.
Retention and deletion
When Shopify sends an uninstall or shop-redaction webhook, LinkGuard deletes its stored shop data and OAuth session. The App acknowledges Shopify customer-data and customer-redaction webhooks because it does not retain customer data. You can also request help with a privacy or data question at support@shwrk.com.
Your choices and contact
You can remove LinkGuard from Shopify at any time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your account, contact support@shwrk.com and include your shop domain. For product help, visit LinkGuard support.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or applicable requirements change. The date above shows when it was last revised.
